We’re delighted to announce that the 2nd Annual Storybook Village will be Saturday, October 12th at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens! This free family-friendly event is a fundraiser for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Volusia, and a celebration of the joy of reading in our community. This year we’re honoring the beloved children’s author Laura Numeroff with a host of engaging activities, book giveaways, and much more. Join us for an afternoon of fun and excitement as you connect with local organizations dedicated to increasing early literacy rates and providing access to books. Everyone is encouraged to dress up as their favorite child-friendly book character and participate in delightful activities such as free face painting, a scavenger hunt, and a live performance of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Volusia, a free book-gifting program for children ages birth to five years old, is fully funded by community donations. This program ensures that over 5,700 children in our county receive a high-quality, age-appropriate book each month, fostering a love of reading.
